Pragyan Ojha, who has the most Test appearances among the remaining members, has been asked to chair the committee in the interim

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has formally invited applications to fill the vacancy on the men's senior selection committee following the expiration of Ajit Agarkar's contract. Agarkar, who served as chairman since July 2023, left the role two days prior to the announcement. Former spinner Pragyan Ojha has been asked to chair the panel in the interim as the committee operates with four members.
Applicants must have played at least seven Tests, 30 First-Class matches, or 10 ODIs alongside 20 First-Class matches. Eligible candidates must have retired from cricket at least five years ago and cannot have served five cumulative years on a BCCI Cricket Committee. The application deadline is set for 5 p.m. on October 14.
