Big blow for Sri Lanka! Wanindu Hasaranga, Pathum Nissanka ruled out of Pakistan T20Is

Sri Lanka will be without Wanindu Hasaranga and Pathum Nissanka for their upcoming three-match T20I series against Pakistan. The series will take place at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from October 9 to October 13, 2026. Nissanka is sidelined due to a right-leg strain, while Hasaranga continues to rehabilitate a lower-back issue. Both senior players are targeting a return for the ODI Tri-Nation Series beginning on October 18, pending their match fitness.

Kusal Mendis will return to lead the side and is also expected to open the innings for Sri Lanka. Spin bowler Vijayakanth Viyaskanth is likely to provide cover for Hasaranga, with Sahan Arachchige and Chamindu Wickramasinghe also under consideration for selection.
