Sam Konstas struck an unbeaten 151 off 167 balls against Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield, prompting David Warner to advocate for his return to the Test side at No.3.
David Warner has advocated for Sam Konstas to be recalled to the Australian Test team to bat at No. 3 following the youngster's Sheffield Shield performance. The endorsement came after 21-year-old Konstas scored an unbeaten 151 off 167 balls for New South Wales against Western Australia at the WACA on October 21. Konstas followed his first-innings 71 with an aggressive counter-attacking century featuring 15 fours and four sixes.
Warner's backing arrives amid scrutiny of Australia's top order, including incumbent No. 3 Marnus Labuschagne, who has averaged 22.80 across 13 Tests since the start of 2025. Konstas previously played five Tests, averaging 16.3 before being dropped following a series against the West Indies in July 2025, but his latest first-class century has put him back in national selection discussions.
