English fast bowler Craig Miles has announced his retirement from professional cricket at the age of 32 to protect his mental health. Miles, who last played in June during the Vitality Blast, finishes a 15-year professional career that included more than 500 wickets across formats.
In an open letter published through Gloucestershire, Miles explained that intense self-doubt, high personal standards, and the uncertainty of cricket had become unsustainable. Gloucestershire director of cricket Jon Lewis commended Miles for making a brave decision and confirmed the club's full support.
