The result marked the second-highest successful run-chase in ODI history, following South Africa's 438-9 against Australia in 2006.
Gill and opening partner Rohit Sharma, who scored 101, combined for a 255-run opening stand. Earlier, the West Indies posted 405-7, powered by centuries from Amir Jangoo (114), Shai Hope (104), and John Campbell (101). Gill's knock set records for the fastest double century in ODIs off 117 balls and the highest individual score in an ODI run-chase.
