Opening the batting, Matthews struck 26 fours and two sixes, leading her side to a total of 299 for 6 in their 50 overs after winning the toss.
Matthews shared a 128-run opening partnership off 140 balls with Grimmond before the rest of the batting order contributed modestly, with Zimbabwe bowler Francisca Chipare taking two wickets. Her 182-run innings places her sixth on the list of highest individual scores in all-time women's ODI cricket.
