The Perth Scorchers' defensive nous with the ball proved dividends as they bowled out the Melbourne Stars after scoring just 124 with the bat…

Sophie Devine and Alana King delivered standout bowling performances to lead the Perth Scorchers to a 15-run WBBL victory over the Melbourne Stars at Junction Oval. Defending a modest total of 9-124, Devine captured 4-19 and King took 3-17, bowling out the Stars for 109 in 18.1 overs despite a resilient 41 runs from Stars captain Meg Lanning.
Earlier in the match, Perth collapsed from 2-70 to 7-76 against the Melbourne Stars' spin attack, with Sophie Day, Charlie Dean, and Maisy Gibson each claiming two wickets. However, the Scorchers defended their target effectively, maintaining an undefeated start to their campaign ahead of their upcoming clash with the Sydney Thunder.
