Allrounder slams 84 and takes two wickets as Australia beat New Zealand by 40 runs in second T20I…

Ashleigh Gardner powered Australia to a 40-run victory over New Zealand in the second T20I at North Sydney Oval, securing the Rose Bowl with a game to spare. Gardner blasted 84 runs off 45 balls to push Australia to 7-167 before claiming two wickets. Beth Mooney contributed 37 runs as Australia set a challenging target despite a stuttering batting display from the rest of the lineup.
New Zealand were restricted to 8-127 in response, with Amelia Kerr top-scoring on 32. Georgia Wareham claimed 3-18 and produced a crucial run out of Maddy Green to stifle the White Ferns' chase. The win ensures Australia retains the Rose Bowl ahead of Thursday's series finale, continuing their near-27-year hold on the trophy.
