After demanding ruthlessness, South Africa's captain led from the front with arguably his best Test knock…

South Africa captain Temba Bavuma scored his fifth Test century during the second Test against Australia at St George's Park in Gqeberha. Bavuma reached the milestone off 226 balls, marking his slowest Test century and his first against Australia. He completed the achievement with a pulled boundary off Australian captain Pat Cummins following overcast and challenging batting conditions earlier in the match.
Bavuma's patient approach was highlighted by a high leave percentage of 30 percent against an Australian seam attack featuring Scott Boland and Mitchell Starc. Assistant coach Ashwell Prince praised Bavuma's exceptional decision-making after teammates Marques Ackerman, David Bedingham, and Ryan Rickelton were dismissed.
