Cricket Australia believes two further states could soon vote for BBL privatisation even as the board reports a net profit of AU$81.8 million for the 2025-26 season…

Cricket Australia has opened talks with men's head coach Andrew McDonald regarding a contract extension beyond his existing deal, which expires after the 2027 ODI World Cup. CA chief executive Todd Greenberg praised McDonald's performance while emphasizing the importance of managing an upcoming generational transition in the squad as several veteran players near the end of their international careers.
The announcement coincided with CA's annual general meeting, where David Boon stepped in as interim chairman following Mike Baird's departure. Meanwhile, CA reported an AU$81.8 million net profit for the 2025-26 season, while also revealing that Tasmania and Western Australia are considering BBL privatisation.
