South Africa's Player of the Series Marco Jansen opens up about the mental and emotional demands of the decisive third Test at Newlands.
South Africa all-rounder Marco Jansen reflected on the emotional and mental toll of securing a 2-1 Test series win against Australia. Following South Africa's 176-run victory in the third Test at Newlands, Jansen described severe sleep deprivation leading into the decisive match, managing only one to two hours of rest due to intense pressure.
Named Player of the Series after taking 13 wickets and scoring 198 runs, Jansen expressed deep relief and collective joy at the achievement. The victory also propelled South Africa back to the top of the ICC Test rankings.
