Josh Inglis and Cameron Green both overcame recent injury setbacks to guide Australia's batting lineup on day two of the third Test against South Africa in Cape Town. The tourists were forced to reshuffle their middle order following the withdrawal of Steve Smith, who was ruled out of the series decider due to a cervical facet joint injury in his neck.
Australia capitalized on key partnerships without Smith, including a 126-run stand between Green and Matthew Renshaw, and a 145-run partnership between Inglis and Alex Carey. Inglis finished the day unbeaten on 85, while Renshaw contributed 74 runs to help stabilize Australia after losing early wickets against spinner Simon Harmer.
