Australia want to push the limits of their T20I game, while a White Ferns outfit entering a new era are out to upset their trans-Tasman rivals

Newly crowned T20 World champions Australia will face a rebuilding New Zealand in a three-match T20I series at North Sydney Oval. The series marks Australia's first T20I fixtures since winning the World Cup at Lord's in July, serving as their only preparation before the inaugural ICC T20 Champions Trophy in India. Australia captain Sophie Molineux indicated that her side intends to maintain and further advance their aggressive brand of cricket.
New Zealand enter the series without retired stalwarts Sophie Devine, Suzie Bates, and Lea Tahuhu, alongside injured wicketkeeper Izzy Gaze. Led by captain Amelia Kerr and interim coach Dean Brownlie, the White Ferns aim to protect their world ranking to secure an Olympic berth for Los Angeles 2028.
