Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Josh Tongue and Sonny Baker are all left out of England's five-match T20I squad for Australia, with the Test tour of South Africa in view.
England has rested fast bowlers Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Josh Tongue, and Sonny Baker from their upcoming five-match T20I squad against Australia. National selector Marcus North explained that the decision manages the pace group's workload ahead of the Test tour of South Africa. All four fast bowlers remain included in England's squad for the preceding three-match ODI series in Australia.
The T20I squad features maiden call-ups for uncapped youngsters Thomas Rew and Eddie Jack, while Phil Salt and Sam Curran return from injuries. Saqib Mahmood misses out due to upcoming knee surgery, while Brydon Carse remains omitted amid an ongoing investigation into his conduct.
