England split cricket coaching setups and hand out record 39 central contracts

England men's managing director Rob Key has announced a record 39 central contracts alongside split coaching setups under Stephen Fleming and Brendon McCullum. The contract list features 30 main deals and nine developmental contracts, with Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jofra Archer, and Jacob Bethell extending through 2028. Meanwhile, Ben Duckett, Jamie Smith, and Ollie Robinson were restricted to one-year deals to keep them hungry for Test spots.

Key also finalized the coaching backroom staff ahead of Fleming's first Test series in South Africa. Eric Simons joins as Test fast-bowling coach, James Foster and Richard Dawson arrive as assistants, and Tim Southee transitions solely to McCullum's white-ball staff alongside Jeetan Patel.
