As Tanvi Patri produced one of the most remarkable fightbacks during the badminton girls’ singles final of Youth Olympic Games, her father Rabinarayan Patri was not in the stands witnessing it unfold.
Indian shuttler Tanvi Patri earned a silver medal in the girls' singles final at the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar after a narrow defeat to Zhang Yi Xin. The 15-year-old fought back from 10-19 in the final game, saving six match points before falling 15-21, 21-13, 24-26 in a hard-fought contest.
Her father, Rabinarayan Patri, emphasized that junior results will not define her career and stated that the primary objective remains winning an Olympic medal. Patri overcame earlier illness and difficult local conditions in Dakar, with her upcoming schedule including multiple events on the senior circuit such as the Syed Modi International and Senior National Championships.
