Sunil Gavaskar feels that India should consider a shift in their strategy when Hardik Pandya is not available instead of hoping another player can do what the ace all-rounder does.

Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar stated that India should stop trying to replace Hardik Pandya and instead alter their team strategy when the injured all-rounder is unavailable. Speaking after India's T20I series against the West Indies ended in a 2-2 draw, Gavaskar labeled Pandya irreplaceable and urged the team to adapt rather than search for a direct substitute.
Gavaskar recommended that India field at least four frontline bowlers alongside all-rounders capable of contributing with the bat and ball. He highlighted young batter Naman Dhir and spinner Axar Patel as players who can provide the necessary balance by filling complementary roles.
