New Zealand batter Devon Conway has been ruled out of the ongoing ODI series against India after sustaining a concussion. The injury occurred during a fielding collision with teammate Matt Henry ahead of the first ODI in Auckland, requiring Conway to be taken to an emergency medical facility. Nick Kelly has been called up earlier than planned as Conway's squad replacement.
Henry was cleared of concussion and remains available for selection, while Dale Phillips joined New Zealand A to cover for Kelly. India currently leads the series 1-0 following a five-wicket, rain-affected victory via the DLS method at Eden Park, driven by Virat Kohli's 74 and Shubman Gill's 37.
