PV Sindhu was defeated by world No. 1 An Se Young in the final of the French Open Super 750 tournament in Paris. The Indian shuttler won the opening game but was ultimately overcome by the South Korean star, finishing with a scoreline of 21-16, 11-21, 12-21. The loss extended Sindhu's head-to-head winless record against An to 11 consecutive matches.
After Sindhu took the early lead, An responded aggressively to dominate the second game and force a decider. Despite Sindhu establishing an 8-5 lead in the final game, An seized momentum to win six of the next seven points before sealing the match. The victory marked An's fourth French Open title and her 11th tournament win of the season.
