Para-shuttler Pramod Bhagat and para-table tennis star Bhavina Patel have been named India's flag bearers for the upcoming Asian Para Games in Aichi-Nagoya. The duo will lead the Indian contingent during the opening ceremony for the fifth edition of the competition, which takes place from October 18 to 24. Paralympic Committee of India president Devendra Jhajharia praised both athletes as fitting representatives to inspire the team.
Bhagat, a 38-year-old from Odisha, has claimed six Asian Para Games medals across his career, including two golds. Patel has won two medals across previous editions of the continental tournament. Together, they aim to help India surpass its record-breaking tally of 111 medals, which included 29 golds, achieved at the previous Asian Para Games.
