Former India opener Aakash Chopra believes the team management’s selection thinking does not currently match his own, questioning the decision to leave out Nitish Kumar Reddy from the first T20I against the West Indies in Lucknow.
Former India opener Aakash Chopra questioned the team management's choice to leave all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy out of the playing XI for the first T20I against the West Indies in Lucknow. Chopra stated that his thinking did not align with India's selection strategy, asking when Reddy would get an opportunity if not in this series opener.
Despite his selection critique, Chopra commended Naman Dhir for taking 3/31 under pressure during India's eight-wicket victory. India chased down the 172-run target with 32 balls remaining, led by Shreyas Iyer's unbeaten 102 off 43 balls.
