Indian para-swimmer Himanshu Nandal completed a hat-trick of bronze medals at the Asian Para Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The 22-year-old placed third in the men's 100m freestyle S11 event on Friday with a time of 1:05.90, finishing behind Japan's Uchu Tomita and China's Chuanzhen Sun. His latest podium finish added to his earlier bronze medals in the men's 400m freestyle and 100m breaststroke S11 events.
Born blind due to optic nerve failure, the Rohtak native previously competed in judo at the national level before switching to swimming in 2021. Nandal became the first Indian blind swimmer to meet the Minimum Qualification Standard for the Paris 2024 Paralympics and later reached two finals at the 2025 World Para Swimming Championships.
