Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan was struck on the elbow by a fast delivery from India pacer Jasprit Bumrah during the opening over of the Asian Games 2026 gold medal match at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, Japan. Farhan dropped his bat in pain before eventually being dismissed by Washington Sundar for 10 runs in the fourth over.
India secured the gold medal with a 19-run victory after posting 211/6 in 20 overs, led by half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma. Despite an innings of 96 from Pakistan's Hasan Nawaz, India restricted Pakistan to 192/6 to win the historic final.
