Having played his last Test in 2023, he's eyeing a spot in SA's side for upcoming three-Test series against Australia at home

South Africa fast bowler Anrich Nortje is targeting a return to Test cricket ahead of the home series against Australia starting October 9. Nortje has not featured in a first-class match since playing his last Test in 2023, spending recent years focused primarily on T20 competitions following recurring injury issues.
Working alongside national bowling coach Piet Botha, Nortje has adjusted his action and gradually increased his workload with the red ball. South Africa face several fast-bowling injuries, with Lungi Ngidi, Kwena Maphaka, and Ottneil Baartman already ruled out, bolstering Nortje's selection chances.
