The Story in 60 Seconds

Matt Renshaw scored a career-best 190 to lift Australia to 390 all out on day two of the first Test against South Africa at Kingsmead. South Africa reached 27-1 in response before bad light brought an early end to play on Saturday. Australia had previously collapsed to 124-6 on the opening day before Renshaw spearheaded their dramatic recovery.

Batting at number five, Renshaw added a crucial 86-run stand with captain Pat Cummins and a record 134-run ninth-wicket partnership with Nathan Lyon. Wiaan Mulder was South Africa's standout bowler, taking 4-51, but Australia added valuable lower-order runs as the pitch flattened.
