James Anderson joins Italia T10 League as co-owner after Lancashire exit

England bowling legend James Anderson has become a co-owner and captain of the Napoli Knights in the upcoming Italia T10 League. The decision follows Lancashire's choice not to offer Anderson a new playing contract for the upcoming season. Anderson will co-own the franchise alongside former Lancashire teammate and sports agent Luke Sutton through Sutton's agency, Activate Sport and Leisure.

The tournament features six teams and will take place at the Roma Cricket Ground from November 18 to 29. Created by Nadeem Shahid and Aamir Akhtar via Apex T10 Limited, the competition aims to develop cricket in Italy ahead of the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. Other investors in the league include the owners of PSL side Quetta Gladiators, who have acquired the Rome franchise.
