Former Australia batter Usman Khawaja has claimed that Australia's entire dressing room was aware of the ball-tampering incident in Cape Town in 2018. Speaking ahead of the release of his book 'Sabr', Khawaja stated that the full squad knew about the plot, contradicting Cricket Australia's official findings that only Steve Smith, David Warner, and Cameron Bancroft were involved.
Smith and Warner were suspended for one year, while Bancroft received a nine-month ban following the scandal. Khawaja noted that the squad first discussed ball-tampering during the second Test in Port Elizabeth and claimed that incoming coach Justin Langer helped restore humility to the Australian team afterward.
