Kotian eyes India Test call as he shatters records with an 8/84, proving his all-round potential and bowling prowess for selectors.
Tanush Kotian made a strong case for a Test call-up with a career-best bowling performance for Mumbai against Haryana in the Ranji Trophy. The off-spinner recorded career-best figures in both an innings and a match, taking 8/84 in an innings during Mumbai's victory at the MCA BKC Ground. His efforts served as a reminder to national selectors ahead of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Kotian's 8/84 is the best bowling spell by a Mumbai off-spinner, surpassing Ramesh Powar's 7/55 from 2004-05, and the best by any Mumbai bowler in First-Class cricket since 2012-13. Kotian also credited bowling tips received from Australian spinner Nathan Lyon during a previous tour to Australia for helping refine his over-spin, run-up, and bowling variations.
