Pat Cummins unfazed by prospect of Khawaja book raising sandpaper scandal: ‘Tell your story’

Australia captain Pat Cummins stated he is unfazed by the prospect of the 2018 sandpaper scandal being addressed in Usman Khawaja's upcoming autobiography. Speaking ahead of the first Test against South Africa in Durban, Cummins confirmed that Khawaja called to inform him about the book. Cummins told his former opening partner that he is free to tell his story, emphasizing that the Australian squad has long moved on from the incident.

Khawaja's self-written book will be released next month, marking the first autobiography by an Australian player involved in the controversial 2018 Cape Town Test. The scandal resulted in lengthy bans for David Warner, Steve Smith, and Cameron Bancroft. Cummins noted that subsequent investigations thoroughly addressed the matter and stated that the current Australian team has significantly evolved in its approach since that series.
