India Women's T20I vice-captain Shafali Verma received an official reprimand and one demerit point for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct. The incident occurred during the second Women's T20I against Zimbabwe in Raipur on October 18, 2026, when Verma threw the ball into the ground in frustration after dropping a catch.
Verma admitted to breaching Article 2.2, which covers abuse of cricket equipment, and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee G.S. Lakshmi. This marked Verma's first disciplinary offence within a 24-month period, meaning no suspension was triggered, and India went on to win the match by nine wickets.
