Tilak Varma: I have done what everyone believed

Tilak Varma expressed pride after guiding India to victory with an unbeaten 51 off 26 balls in their 181-run chase against New Zealand in the second T20I in Christchurch. India had slumped to 70 for 5 in the 11th over before Tilak anchored the innings, crediting pre-game conversations with head coach Gautam Gambhir and batting coach Sitanshu Kotak for reinforcing belief in his finishing abilities.

Tilak shared a 42-run stand with Naman Dhir before combining with Nitish Kumar Reddy for an unbroken 69-run partnership, India's highest seventh-wicket stand in men's T20Is. India sealed the win with two balls to spare, maintaining Tilak's streak of 26 victorious T20 chases in which he has remained not out.
