Towhid Hridoy: ‘Our batting unit has been consistently poor abroad’

Bangladesh stand-in captain Towhid Hridoy criticized the team's batting mindset after they were eliminated from the UAE ODI tri-series. Bangladesh failed to reach the final following defeats to Zimbabwe and Afghanistan in the group stage. Against Zimbabwe, the team was bowled out for 172 to lose by 99 runs, before managing just 160 runs against Afghanistan in a seven-wicket loss.

Hridoy noted that while Bangladesh have performed well at home, winning three consecutive series earlier in the year, their batting abroad has struggled for eighteen months. He emphasized the necessity of adapting quickly to foreign conditions and batting with more courage rather than a defensive mindset during collapses.
