Christian Horner being linked to the team principal role at Ferrari has been dashed by Martin Brundle after he called the former Red Bull boss.

Martin Brundle has dismissed speculation linking Christian Horner to the Ferrari team principal role following a personal phone call with the former Red Bull boss. Rumors surfaced after Horner referred to Ferrari as a "sleeping giant" during an interview promoting his memoir, which prompted Ferrari to publicly back current team boss Fred Vasseur.
According to Brundle, Horner clarified that his comments were merely polite remarks that were blown out of proportion. Ferrari communications chief Maria Conti reiterated full confidence in Vasseur, while Vasseur acknowledged the outside noise had become a distraction for the team.
