Christian Horner has revealed the bizarre manner in which he found out that design genius Adrian Newey wanted to leave Red Bull.

Christian Horner has revealed the awkward circumstances surrounding Adrian Newey's departure from Red Bull in his upcoming memoir 'Drive'. Horner explained that he learned about Newey's impending exit via a phone call while looking at the designer through an office glass wall. When confronted directly, Newey refused to discuss the matter and instructed Horner to negotiate through his manager, former team boss Eddie Jordan.
Horner also expressed surprise at Newey publicly announcing his move to Aston Martin at a press conference while still employed by Red Bull. Newey ended nearly two decades with Red Bull, where he helped secure 14 world championships, after previously rejecting an offer from Ferrari in 2014.
