F1 legend Martin Brundle gave Christian Horner credit for his role in Max Verstappen's Bahrain Grand Prix victory on Sunday despite the former Red Bull boss having left his position over a year ago.

Formula 1 commentator Martin Brundle credited former Red Bull team principal Christian Horner following Max Verstappen's Bahrain Grand Prix victory. Despite Horner leaving his position over a year ago, Brundle highlighted his instrumental role in establishing the Red Bull Powertrains project in 2021, which secured its first Formula 1 win as a power unit manufacturer.
Horner initiated the powertrains program after Honda announced its departure, aiming to build engines for the 2026 regulations. Following the win, Brundle praised Horner for assembling the project's original team, while Horner congratulated Red Bull Ford Powertrains and Verstappen on social media for becoming race winners within five years.
