Max Verstappen and Álex Palou are both in top form in their respective championships and one day they could yet meet on a racetrack.

Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen has expressed a strong desire to compete on track against five-time IndyCar champion Álex Palou. Speaking at Portimão during the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, Verstappen stated that while they have previously raced against each other online, he is eager for the day they finally share a racetrack in person, whether as teammates or competitors.
Palou has expanded his racing resume beyond IndyCar to include prototype races at Le Mans and IMSA, alongside GT3 outings with Lone Star Racing in the Indianapolis 8 Hour. Although rumors suggested Palou might join Verstappen and Chris Lulham at Portimão, Ben Barnicoat was chosen instead for the drive.
