Great speculation has accompanied Fernando Alonso in recent months as he held back on confirming his future in Formula 1. Now it appears that not only has he been able to agree favourable terms with Aston Martin to stay on…

Fernando Alonso is understood to be preparing for a return to the Dakar Rally with backing from Aston Martin. Alongside agreeing to terms to remain with Aston Martin in Formula 1 for 2027, the two-time world champion reportedly persuaded the manufacturer to support an entry prepared by Prodrive. Five-time motorcycle category winner Marc Coma is expected to rejoin Alonso as co-driver.
The proposed rally-raid car will reportedly be based on the Dacia Sandrider and could feature styling inspired by the Aston Martin concept from Call of Duty. Prodrive is also considering fielding a full team, with Nasser Al-Attiyah and Sebastien Loeb under consideration as potential drivers, though official confirmation has not yet been issued.
