Ferrari handed fresh F1 instruction as title hopes fade

Former IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe has advised Ferrari to shift its full focus and resources toward developing its 2027 car. Despite securing two race wins this season shared between drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, Ferrari trails runaway constructors' championship leaders Mercedes by 145 points.

Speaking on the F1 Nation podcast, Hinchcliffe suggested that Ferrari should treat the remaining race weekends as test sessions. He noted that the team is effectively out of title contention, allowing them to experiment with setups and development parts without the pressure of a championship battle.
