Max Verstappen makes decision on racing series switch despite success of father Jos

Red Bull Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen has ruled out switching to rally car racing, describing the discipline as too dangerous. Speaking to German publication BILD, the four-time world champion stated that the inherent risks of rallying are not worth taking, particularly after recently becoming a father.

While Verstappen has previously competed in GT racing events at the Nürburgring and committed his F1 future to Red Bull last month, he noted his family would likely oppose any rallying attempt. His father, Jos Verstappen, won the 2025 Belgian Rally Championship but also survived a major crash at the Rallye de Wallonie in April.
