The FIA has confirmed that two F1 stars will be hit with big grid penalties for Sunday's United States Grand Prix, while a third driver could also face punishment.

The FIA has confirmed that Gabriel Bortoleto and Franco Colapinto will receive significant grid penalties for Sunday's United States Grand Prix after taking power unit components beyond their seasonal allocations. Bortoleto faces a 20-place grid penalty for fitting a fourth energy store and fourth control electronics unit to his Audi power unit. Colapinto has been handed a 10-place penalty after taking his fourth control electronics unit for his Mercedes power unit.
A potential penalty for a third driver remains uncertain after the FIA initially announced, then recalled, a document assessing a five-place grid penalty to Racing Bulls driver Arvid Lindblad for installing a sixth internal combustion engine. At the time of reporting, the FIA has not clarified whether Lindblad will still face sanctions or if further changes were made to his power unit.
