The FIA is reportedly moving to close an aerodynamic loophole exploited by Red Bull Racing, according to a report from AutoRacer.it. The Milton Keynes-based team introduced a clever sidepod trick earlier in the season on their RB22 at the Austrian Grand Prix, which allowed for a sharper, more aggressive undercut by using a structural cable near the floor body stay.

The FIA is amending the 2027 technical regulations to reduce the floor support dimension to 5mm, effectively eliminating the loophole and requiring Red Bull and Audi to redesign their lower sidepods.
