Tom Hart will serve as Max Verstappen's race engineer for three upcoming 2026 races, starting at the United States Grand Prix. The trial runs in Austin, Brazil, and Las Vegas are part of a structured handover plan before Hart replaces GianPiero Lambiase full-time for the 2027 season.
Lambiase, who has worked alongside Verstappen since 2016, is set to join McLaren as Chief Racing Officer by 2028 at the latest. While McLaren pursues an early release, Lambiase will remain on-site during the trials and resume engineering duties for Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
