Honda has taken swift action after Fernando Alonso felt he detected a problem aboard his Aston Martin in Singapore.

Honda confirmed that it will replace Fernando Alonso's power unit overnight ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix. The decision followed complaints from the Aston Martin driver about persistent engine issues and power losses on corner exits during both the Sprint race and qualifying at the Marina Bay circuit.
Alonso had qualified 17th after being eliminated in Q1, narrowly missing out on advancing. Following his feedback, Honda trackside general manager and chief engineer Shintaro Orihara stated that the team decided to replace the unit overnight, which is expected to trigger a grid penalty.
