Williams team principal James Vowles expressed confidence that the team will avoid repeating its difficult 2026 winter preparations ahead of the 2027 Formula 1 campaign. The team struggled at the start of the 2026 regulatory cycle, missing pre-season running and coping with an overweight FW48 car that contributed to a drop to ninth in the constructors' standings with only 12 points.
Vowles explained that carrying over the newly introduced chassis into 2027 significantly reduces organizational workload. He also credited updated internal software systems and the recent arrival of former McLaren chief operating officer Piers Thynne for establishing better working processes. Carlos Sainz previously introduced the updated lightweight chassis at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, scoring Williams' first points since Monaco.
