Sky Sports expert Martin Brundle says Oscar Piastri's F1 struggles in 2026 are "painful to witness".

Sky Sports expert Martin Brundle described Oscar Piastri's performance struggles during the 2026 Formula 1 season as painful to witness. Writing in his Sky Sports column after Sunday's US Grand Prix in Texas, Brundle noted that Piastri finished seventh and failed to match the front-running pace, struggling significantly to adapt to the new 2026 car regulations.
The 25-year-old Australian currently sits seventh in the Drivers' standings, trailing championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 221 points and McLaren teammate Lando Norris by 67 points. Piastri had also faced paddock rumors linking him with a potential move away from McLaren, though reported swap talks involving Red Bull's Max Verstappen ended after Verstappen signed a contract extension through 2030.
