Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli is on the verge of securing his first Formula One world championship in only his second season in the sport. The 20-year-old Italian has claimed eight victories during the 2026 campaign, putting him in position to become the youngest world champion in Formula One history, potentially sealing the title at the upcoming United States Grand Prix in Austin.

Antonelli's meteoric rise was supported by Mercedes after joining their junior driver program at age 12, eventually replacing Lewis Hamilton for his 2025 debut.
