Fred Vasseur questions FIA over Mercedes engine after huge Baku pole gap

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur questioned the FIA regarding assessments of Mercedes' engine performance following the Azerbaijan Grand Prix qualifying session in Baku. Mercedes driver George Russell claimed pole position with a dominant advantage of more than eight-tenths of a second over Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, who secured second place on the front row.

Vasseur noted that straight-line performance is influenced by both power units and aerodynamic drag, while suggesting questions about engine evaluations should be directed to the governing body. Meanwhile, Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton qualified sixth after brushing the wall in Q3 and running without a slipstream.
