Ferrari threw away a potential win at the Mexico City Grand Prix after Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton came to blows on the opening lap.…

Former Formula 1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya argued that Ferrari must implement internal penalties against Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton following their opening-lap clash at the Mexico City Grand Prix. Starting from pole, Hamilton lost the win after Leclerc attempted an overtake into Turn 4 that resulted in both Ferraris running wide, costing the team a potential one-two victory. Red Bull's Max Verstappen went on to win the race, while Hamilton finished second and Leclerc took fourth.
Montoya stated that Ferrari needs to hold serious conversations and enforce consequences because the drivers squandered a certain win. Pundit James Hinchcliffe also criticized the incident on F1TV, labeling the drivers' actions selfish and stating that Leclerc should have received a harsher punishment than his five-second penalty.
