The Story in 60 Seconds

McLaren CEO Zak Brown stated during the Singapore Grand Prix that driver Oscar Piastri is returning to form following a challenging 2026 season. Piastri has secured two podiums this year but struggled to adapt to the complex MCL40 car, trailing teammate Lando Norris who has taken two race wins. Brown noted that Piastri is displaying growing confidence and appears back on top of things behind the wheel.

Piastri explained that adjusting his driving style has required constant adaptation, as previous approaches failed to deliver results with the new car. Despite an eventful Singapore Grand Prix weekend that featured a Sprint collision with Norris and an unscheduled pit stop due to a puncture, Piastri managed a fifth-place finish on Sunday after passing Lewis Hamilton on the final lap.
