Patrick Reed isn’t the only obstacle Rory McIlroy faces in chase for his next big goal

Rory McIlroy faces competition from Eugenio Chacarra alongside Patrick Reed as he pursues a record-tying eighth Race to Dubai title. Chacarra jumped ahead of McIlroy into second place in the season-long standings and held a two-shot lead at 14 under par during the suspended third round of the DP World India Championship. McIlroy trailed Chacarra by 10 shots after opening with rounds of 70 and 68.

Reed sits eight shots behind Chacarra at Delhi Golf Club after overcoming an opening 75. Both Reed and Chacarra are former LIV Golf players attempting to earn PGA Tour cards via the DP World Tour's top-10 rankings. Reed is currently atop the standings, holding a narrow 166-point lead over Chacarra.
